About Me
I have been a Counsellor since 2007 and became accredited in 2010.
I have worked with people in Addiction & Recovery services as well as Primary Care Mental Health settings. I have worked specifically with older people affected by mental health, loneliness and trauma.

I have lived experience of the above and know how much this can be a challenge in dealing with life's issues.

In early 2024 I was diagnosed with ADHD. This was 6 weeks after my daughter was diagnosed on my 55th birthday. It came at a time I had been reading more about neurodivergence, adhd, autism and trauma. I had also gravitated towards training geared for anxiety, ADHD, trauma and PTSD.

The diagnosis was validation for the parts of me I struggled with. The reading, studying, training, and education allowed me to see how this works inside me, and more importantly how I have been able to optimise my potential in a 'neurotypical' world.

I could also see how mainstream services may not be able to provide adequate support, whether this be a school, college, workplace or health service based on my experience of the level of understanding of the workforce, something I now work proactively in raising awareness about and forms part of my therapy practice.

Having been in a relationship for over 30 years, bringing up 3 children with my wife I can appreciate the challenges that life throws us. The Ups, the Downs and the challenges of change and the need for support to help us cope. Each day brings a new challenge and experience. How we deal with that is key.
I use my creativity to help me work through my thoughts and feelings encouraging other to bring the fun of PLAY back into their lives, sharing my skills and experiences to help others release their inner child and give it a voice.
